Tax Residency Checker ("the Service") is operated by the account owner at the contact email shown on the site. These Terms form the agreement between you (the user) and us.
The Service is a tool that helps individuals record where they were on each day and track progress against jurisdiction-specific tax residency thresholds (UK Statutory Residence Test, Crown Dependency residency, EU Schengen 90/180, and other supported jurisdictions).
The Service provides general guidance, not tax or legal advice. Residency tests have corner cases and interpretations that this tool does not cover (split-year treatment, exceptional circumstances, dual-resident tie-breakers, domicile, and so on). You must confirm your position with a qualified accountant or tax adviser before acting on any figure or verdict shown here. We are not liable for any tax consequence arising from your reliance on the Service.
You are responsible for keeping your password secure and for activity under your account. Don't share your login. Let us know promptly at the contact email if you believe your account has been compromised.
New accounts get a 14-day free trial with no card required. Before the trial ends you can approve the annual subscription charge (currently £50 / year). We do not auto-bill without you clicking to confirm. Subscriptions renew annually; you can cancel at any time via your billing portal.
You own the data you enter. You can export your daily log as CSV or PDF at any time. We process your data to operate the Service and email you the reports you've opted into — see the Privacy Policy for detail.
Don't abuse the Service: no automated scraping of other users' data, no attempts to break authentication, no reverse-engineering paid features for redistribution. We may suspend accounts that do.
We aim to keep the Service running but don't guarantee uninterrupted availability. We may need to take it offline for maintenance or upgrades. We'll try to give notice for planned downtime.
You can close your account at any time by emailing us. We can terminate accounts that breach these Terms. If you cancel mid-subscription, access continues until the end of your paid period; we don't refund partial years.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, our aggregate liability arising from your use of the Service is limited to the fees you paid in the 12 months preceding the claim. We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, including lost tax residency, missed thresholds, or penalties.
We may update these Terms. If changes are material we'll notify active users by email at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts, unless you are a consumer resident elsewhere with mandatory local rights.
